Hey! My name is Jaden Mathews, and I am a multi-disciplinary artist studying Design and Technology at Parsons School of Design. I love to write, draw, and make short films as well as do a bit of physical comp. on the side! This year I am hoping to combine those worlds by making an experiential short film.

At large, I love storytelling! My dream life as an artist would to be able to create my own feature films with in-theater experiences built around them. Each of my films would work as both an on screen movie and a theater experience to enhance that movies message. Outside of crafting these projects, I would love to own my own tea shop somewhere surrounded by nature. Maybe in the mountain tops of Japan?

The most striking stories are those that live within you quietly for awhile. To me the stronger the story and experience the longer you consider it down the line. I want my film experiences to be like that! I think Pixar has had that effect on me the most, but some directors such as Alberto Mielgo also spark that same feeling.

A few projects of my own that I am passionate about are below:

Rex is stressed!

Rex is stressed helped me understand how simpler solutions can often be more effective! Through this group project, I practiced my fundamentals of Arduino programming while starting to branch out a bit as well with new microcontrollers I hadn't used before.

Coalesce!
For coalesce, I learned more about coding and physical comp. then ever before! Similar to Rex is Stressed, my groupmates opened my eyes to a lot of programming and coding I was unfamiliar with which has since changed how I approach creative tech projects.

The Story of Lee

This illustration I did awhile ago back in High School. I selected it because it focuses on my interest in illustration and storytelling. I would ideally like to combine both worlds between powerful storytelling and creative tech to create strong stories that resonate with audiences more.
